It is the only wine marketing agency with offices in New York City and Napa Valley, the nation’s media capital and wine capitals. Nature & Scope of Position
Benson is looking for two motivated and energetic interns – one in Napa and the other in New York City -- looking to acquire experience and develop PR and marketing communications skills in preparation for a career in the field. Through the agency’s work, the winning candidate will be involved in a broad range of PR and media activities, and will work with an international array of producers and trade associations.
The intern will assist agency management with a variety of tasks including, but not be limited to, press list creation, compiling press coverage for monthly reports, coordinating wine sample shipments, researching social media strategies, event coordination, copy writing, database entry, copying and other responsibilities associated with a junior PR position.
Ideally the candidate will be available in September, through the remainder of 2010. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 – 5:00 in Napa, and 9:00 – 6:00 in New York.
During summer 2010, Benson employed interns in Napa Valley and New York City.

Required Qualifications
Candidates should not send a resume if they do not meet these criteria:
• Top 5% in oral and written communications skills;
• Familiarity with social networks and digital media preferred;
• Desire to develop professional skills — a rising star!
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds
• Must be at least 21 years old (for wine purchasing)
