Portugal’s Esporão Taps Benson for US Campaign
April 1, 2010, New York -- The leading quality table wine producer from Portugal’s Alentejo region retained Benson for a national strategy, PR and social media campaign.
The wines of Esporão (pronounced ESH-pour-ow) represent the essence of Portugal, and come from its most dynamic wine region, Alentejo. (Their red wine, Monte Velho, is the best selling red table wine in Portugal) Interestingly, David Baverstock, Esporão’s long-time winemaker, is Australian. The campaign includes webcast harvest updates from Alentejo, press sampling, press trips, story pitching, etc.
Constellation Expands Relationship
March 1, 2010, Napa – Benson is proud to work with the Constellation Wines U.S. team on a wide range of communications projects.
- New Zealand: In addition to handling Nobilo and Monkey Bay, Benson is now managing PR for the stylish Kim Crawford wines, boutique brand Drylands, and is culling information on the overall New Zealand category.
- California: In March, Benson added Estancia and Wild Horse Vineyards from the Central Coast, as well as newly introduced Paso Creek from Paso Robles.
- Washington: Benson continues to work on red-hot Hogue Cellars.
- Imports: In addition to Argentina’s Diseño, and Spain’s popular Red Guitar wines, CWUS added Bordeaux’s Mouton Cadet and recently introduced blufeld Riesling from Germany.
Seguin Moreau Taps Benson for Campaign
February 1, 2010 -- Seguin Moreau Napa Cooperage has initiated a trade marketing campaign with Benson Marketing Group that will include advertising, social media, press relations and other services. Established in 1994 to serve the Napa Valley, the Seguin Moreau Napa Cooperage is the pre-eminent cooperage in the United States supporting wineries throughout the world. Classically trained in France and Scotland, its production team of coopers manufacture barrels ranging from 225L Bordeaux Export and Burgundy Export to exotic 500L barrels, including chateau transport and chateau traditional French, American, Eastern European and Russian oaks.
Bordeaux Extends Contract with Benson Marketing Group through 2012
January 31, 2010 -- Benson Marketing Group’s U.S. public relations campaign for the trade association representing Bordeaux wine producers and négociants, the Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux (CIVB), has been extended through 2012. The agency began working with the CIVB to establish a new press office in the United States and to lead the group’s “Today’s Bordeaux” program starting in late 2005. The campaign includes media outreach, trade and media tastings, and other communications that showcase Bordeaux wines in the $8 to $35 per bottle range. The CIVB and Benson Marketing Group continue to work with Sopexa, CreativeFeed and Sélavi to promote Bordeaux to consumers, trade and media.
The CIVB was created in 1948 and represents more than 10,000 growers and 400 négociants in the French wine region of Bordeaux.
